Just a Quick One

Just found this fab site. You upload photos and it turns them into stencils with just one click (this is most probably old hat to most web savy people). For me the joys of modern technology have not lost their sheen.

I had a bit of a play, and found that photos with a light background work best. Here are some of Phee and me. They from a few months ago (note the the furry Russian hats), in fact the first one is at least a couple of years old.

Note the love of the breton top- a staple in our household.

If your at a bit of a lose end of an evening, go here and make your own. Happy stenciling!

Polka Dot Ballet

Comparing ones self to Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot is not for the faint hearted, but today I decided to do just that. The result was ballet meets beehive...

Again excuse the DIY camera work, and poses.

Cropped Cardigan, H&M, £7.99, Stripped Body, Newlook, £8,
Stonewashed Skinny Jeans, H&M, £15

I have massive Ballet Bun envy at the mo.
having the page boy hair that I do it is sadly an impossibility.
Ballet Pumps, Newlook, £ 7.99
To aid in our quaffing of wine, Phee purchased some lovely spotty cups. Inspired by these, and seeing as its nearly (ish) Easter, I gave myself Easter Egg nails. Didn't work out quite as I had envisaged...

You can witness the results of said quaffing in
a delightful video, put together by Phee, here

Suits Out to Play

So not quite everything made it back into the Asos returns box... I fell in love with the polka dot Dahlia playsuit, still a contender in the wedding dress runnings, and decided to keep it.

Phee and I had a rare simultaneous day off today, so I donned said playsuit and took it for a whirl.

After a tedious queue in the Post Office (complete with huffing oldies and incompetent jobs worths), a painful Council tax payout, and a distressing situation, involving chocolate yoghurt and (almost definitely) a crack addict, we headed into town in search of a nice place to take some photos, and some much needed retail therapy.

Spring may have sprung,
but its not warm enough to discard the trusty old coat just yet

Indulging in my filthy habit
Shiny Tights!

Some pretty things we saw on the way.

Customised Jumper in Action

"And heres one I made earlier"

Dress Dilemma: Part 2

Ok Don't laugh, I had to make do without a photographer, so a lot of these photos are me rushing to try and get in shot in time. Also I always think it pays to move in photos so they don't look too posed- this, as you will see, is what I have tried to do....

Dress 1
this is actually my favourite but I don't think it looks that nice in these photos....
Dress 1. The Back

Dress Dilemma

I mentioned in an earlier post that my parents are getting married this April. Obviously this is massively exciting, however I am yet to find a dress! (not to mention shoes, or accessories) and the wedding is less than a month away.

Madre and I spent a very long day dress shopping in London but, alas, nothing suitable could be found. So it fell to good'ol Asos to save the day. Phee and I had a happy, wine filled, evening trawling the multitude of dresses online and managed to short list 3...

Dress No. 1
Asos's own, Peter Pan Collar Open Back Dress, £45

Dress No. 2
Rare, Peter Pan Collar Sleeveless Shift Dress, £42

Dress No. 3
Dahlia, 'Roxie" Laser Frill Tea Dress, £62

An exciting parcel arrived on Saturday morning containing these dresses (as well as a rather lovely playsuit and a couple of pairs of shoes). The boy was in residence so there wasn't much opportunity to try on and discuss. However, a date has been set. Tuesday evening shall be entirely devoted to wedding related stuff.

Phee is doing Madre's hair and make-up, and the evening shall be filled with dress trying, tipples, and the discussing, at length, of the merits of various shoe/dress/accessory combinations.

In unrelated news, check out the customised jumper:

Turn Ups & Wet Toes

I wanted to do a post about the beautiful Spring weather, with some photos of all the Daffodils that have appeared recently. however, this being England, and England by the sea at that, the weather didn't cooperate.

No matter! The morning brought an unexpected, and very welcome, surprise in the form of a tax rebate. No idea what it's all about, but who am I to argue with the bureaucrates? So I popped into town and purchased myself to a few treats...

  2. Pale Yellow, crew neck long sleeve jumper, Primark, £3.90
  3. Striped, crew neck long sleeve top, H&M, £7.99
  1. A nice big Summer bag, Primark, £8 (if it ever stops raining!)
  2. Sailor cardigan (front & back), Primark, £10

Put it all together.
Basic stud earrings, H&M, £1.99
