Deck The Halls

Phee and I decided to deck The Penthouse halls with festive cheers in readiness for the arrival of December.

We got a tad over excited at the prospect.

Home made orange and clove balls- the flat now smells rather pungently of festive spices.

Our hideous pink tree- a gift from the twins.

Red Lippy & A Velvet Dress

I have been getting into longer skirts recently (perhaps a sign of my age :/... who knows). Ma gave me this dress a few Christmases ago and it really deserves to be worn more,  it sort of reminds me of Eva Green's velvet dress in The Dreamers (a favorite film in The Penthouse household).

 

Whapped out the red lippy, wish I'd worn a beret too now- next time!

 Check out The Penthouse 'garden'. I'm thinking cider and a rooftop picnic or two come Summer.

Impulsive, Expensive and Painful

Spent all day loitering about town with Phee, sipping on coffee, pre-Christmas Christmas shopping, and generally having a lovely time.

Also, sort of on a whim, I got my ear pierced! I say sort of because I have wanted to do it since c.2006 after seeing this (see below). Don't know why it took me so long. Popped into Punktured this morning and as 'luck' would have it they had an opening. Phee had to come in and hold my hand but I'm pleased I had it done.

Boots or Brogues?

Following on from previous posts concerning boots, this is an outfit that I have always worn with brogues in the past. I tried it our with boots today (its cold by the sea). Not sure If I like the overall effect...

All this leads me to think that I definitely need to get me some Chelsea boots. So the H&M ones are perhaps a tad pricey for plastic shoes but I found these which are real leather and only £10! Yes they are actual riding boots and a tad on the shiny side but for a tenner... I don't know! What do you reckon?

Let The Festivities Begin!

Phee and I went for our first Eggnog of the year today, and a peruse at the Christmas windows, which means (in my book at least) it is now acceptable to be excited about CHRISTMAS! Soon the Penthouse halls will be bedecked, wine shall be mulled and a wreath will be hung on the door.

I am currently in the market for some new bed linen (I'm thinking something Nordic and festive-preferably involving reindeer). Town was sadly lacking in festive duvets, but was rich in sparkly Christmas tat, which was just fine by us.

Autumn #3

In post birthday high spirits I decided to purchase some boots. I figure its an investment- black, flat, leather boots are practically practical. Besides these called to my European sensibilities.

yes still no camera. Thought the jacket was a bit formal.

This is the beautiful jewelery tree Phee got me for my birthday, and a lovely bottle of Terre D'Hermes, a gift from my parents.

P.S. on the topic of boots I have my eyes on these beauties, what do you think? Feels a bit excessive to buy two pairs of shoes, plus it erks me to spend money on plastic footwear. Still I am sorely tempted...

Autumn #2

One of the many hats churned out during one of mine and Phee's knitting phases (these occure sporadically throughout November, December, & January).

Autumn #1

As mentioned in my last post, I am currently sans camera so I'm afraid we shall have to make do with Lappy shots, in all their grainy blurry glory. On the topic I am considering purchasing a camera. I want a digital SLR, with a lens that will fit my Pentax, pref under £300. Any tips greatly appreciated).

 Tried to get into autumn a bit this week, Thought I better had before winter proper strikes.
